Some random rants and coffee breaks

Tue Oct 13, 2009, 5:36 AM

Greetings dearest DA people. Yes, it has been a while since I have updated but that is because this year at school has been the most stressful year and busy year yet (I almost snapped at work one day). There has been more to do this year and barely any time to sleep (which hasn't much of an issue anyway, but the lack of sleep is starting to make me a bit crazy).

But the good news is that I am going to the up-coming Motaku convention. I have the Kadaj costume (it looks crazy cool) and have the room reserved for a time of hopeful wildness. I also have Naka-kon planned too, so I hope to see you all there at both cons.

I have also bought Demon's souls recently. It is an odd game, but I like it. The graphics are pretty good for an online game and the gameplay is challenging, but can get repetitive. What do you all think? Feel free to post your thoughts. *motions below*

I am trying my best to get more art together, since most of it has been in the form of digital films. One of the ended up on youtube, but I hope to make plenty more and share them all with you. Until then, wish me luck.

PS - You just lost the game. Have a good day. :)

Mactastic

Well, I suppose it has been a while since I have journaled, but I have something to say now. I have finally attained a laptop of my own, and it is a Mac. This is a completely new system to me, and I have yet to fully learn it, but so far I am impressed with the settup the laptop has (especially the fact that World of Warcraft works faster on it than my desktop. :3) I also got an Ipod touch, but still have a bit of bugs to work out on the iTunes store. Still, not bad for an hour-and-a-half long wait in line in the hot sun, eh?

In other news, artist block still persists in the ways of work to be done, and part of that is lazyness, but I am doing my best to find cool stuff to draw. Give me time.

Other than that, school starts up soon, and this year should be interesting. It is the first year of my intended major and should have more intensive classes. So I have high hopes. Updates will be made as the year goes along.

That is really all I have to talk about right now, so until next time my friends. May the art gods share blessings with all of you and blessed be.

Naka-kon fun

Mon Mar 16, 2009, 11:11 AM
I have returned from Naka-kon!!! *heroic pose* I wish that Naka-kon didn't have to end. I had such fun and spent a good chunk of money, but all in good taste (at least I hope). I say the crowning achievement was the Mokona plushie I recieved.

I was glad that my girlfriend and I were able to go together. It wouldn't have been the same without her. I am also thankful to her friends, who allowed me to crash with them and partake in their foods (we almost finished what we brought with us altogether, which was a lot). I was even able to get things for my parents.

In order, though:

Day 1 - waited 1 to 1-and-a-half hours in line for con badge. Unloaded things in room, changed into costume, Dark Link with my girlfriend was Vatii (collar included, since that is what my girlfriend was dragging me around on) and went to scope out vendors and other stuffs. I didn't do much else that day, since we got there kind of late, but I did go to the rave!!! So many glow sticks and so much dancing (not to mention the caramelldansen. Loved that one!!)

Day 2 - Checked out the vendors again just in case I missed something. I hope I didn't drag Vatii around too much, but the vendors room distracts me so. I attend several panels, like the "How to Draw and Not to Draw" with a hilarious artist/speaker. Gave out several hugs to those who wanted them, or asked for them, and got several pictures taken of the Vatii and Dark Link duo (I am tempted to do a couple picture of them later). I was even able to catch a "Basic Dance" panel, which was fun and cooky.

Somewhere in the middle of all of this, I made sure to get a mocha. If I don't have coffee in places like this, I may go crazy. :3 Anywho, I stayed for a Smash Bros. Brawl tournament, to which I promptly lost first round of said tournament. (again! Gah! I need to practice more) I made sure to go to the rave (or what was left of it, since it started late) and danced the night away with my girlfriend. We got back to the room and finished watching Death Note 2 before going to sleep.

Day 3 - Watched a friend do a Karaoke contest (he won an award on that evening's closing ceremonies) and cought what deals I could at the last-minute-shopping spree. Cought up with my mother who packed our stuff and watched the closing ceremonies. After this we went to Crown Center and got some ice-cream before heading home.

I have so many pictures to upload later, but that may take a while. I hope everyone's weekend was enjoyable.

At an end

Sat Jan 24, 2009, 8:34 PM
My how time flies. It seems like only a month ago that my break started. Well, actually it was roughly a month ago, but I will still miss the days. *sob*

As the wheel turns to yet another period of trial, we remember the things we learn during our quiet times to ourselves and our fun times with others. Look forward to the future and keep the past at heart, and all that.

Anywho, my biggest headache will be the part-time job, but many have done so before and so can I. (I like being a starving artist, but not too starving I guess. Can't have ribs every night, ya? :3) Hopefully the optimism I have whilst I am writing this will not betray me later this year. *prays*

Otherwise, I will try to update my journal and DA page once in a blue moon so stay tuned for more randomness.

Post New Year

Tue Jan 6, 2009, 4:20 PM
Yes, this is very much overdue, but the journal should be updated once in a blue moon. :3

A quiet Christmas and a fun New Years gathering I had. I love the hat my girlfriend got me. Is so snug and warm and stylish, just need to go outside of house more (yes, procrastination and all that). I still need to play Smash Bros. Melee more (can't believe I lost again) and am playing less World of Warcraft now, which is good. That game can be such a time killer.

Semi-dreading the start of school, but have until the 26th of this month, so is still all good. I still hope to draw at least one more deviation before I go back, so I shall see what my brain comes up with. (be scared mortals.. *evil laugh*)

Otherwise, hoping you are all well and had wonderful celebrations.

Yours truly,
Llarth
